How to Prepare for a Portrait Session — Practical Guide

1. Mindset and Mental Preparation
The most important element of a successful photo shoot is your psychological comfort. Remember, you do not need to be a professional model in front of my camera. My job as your photographer is to guide you through the process, help with posing, and create a warm, supportive space.
2. Skincare and Rest
Getting a good night's sleep 24 hours before your session is the key to a rested and radiant appearance. Avoid intensive cosmetic treatments (such as strong chemical peels) right before the shoot to prevent possible redness or allergic reactions.
3. Choosing Your Wardrobe
Select clothing that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Instead of rigid rules, focus on harmony:
- Choose earthy tones, pastels, beige, black, or classic white.
- Avoid tiny, dense patterns and large, flashy logos that distract from your face.
- Bring 2-3 different outfits so we can experiment with different styles.
4. Communication and Inspiration
Before the session, I would love to discuss your expectations. If you have inspirational boards on Pinterest or photos from my portfolio that you absolutely love — send them to me! It will help us build a shared creative vision.
